Good maintenance of the humidifier filter can ensure efficient and hygienic operation of the humidifier. The key points are as follows:
1.Regular cleaning
      Frequency: Depending on the usage environment and duration, it is generally recommended to clean 1-2 times a week. If the air quality in the area is poor, there is a lot of dust, or the humidifier is used for a long time every day, the cleaning frequency should be appropriately increased.
      Method: Before cleaning, unplug the humidifier to ensure personal safety. Gently remove the filter and rinse it under flowing water. The water flow should not be too fast to avoid damaging the filter structure. If the stains on the filter screen are stubborn, you can use a soft bristled brush dipped in a small amount of neutral detergent, gently scrub, and then thoroughly rinse with water to remove residual detergent and prevent it from spraying out with water vapor and endangering health.
2.Timely drying
     Natural drying: After rinsing the filter screen, it should be placed in a well ventilated, dry, and clean place for natural drying. It should not be exposed to direct sunlight, as strong sunlight can cause the filter material to age and deform, affecting the filtration effect and service life. Usually, it takes several hours to wait until the filter is completely free of moisture residue.
     Auxiliary drying: If you urgently need to use the humidifier again, you can use the low temperature setting of the hair dryer, maintain an appropriate distance, and evenly dry the filter screen, but be careful throughout the process to prevent local overheating and burning of the filter screen.
3.Check and replace
     Daily inspection: Every time you clean the filter screen, check its appearance for any damage or holes. If there is such obvious damage, it will greatly reduce the filtration efficiency and allow dust and impurities to easily pass through. At this time, it needs to be replaced in a timely manner.
     Regular replacement: Even if there is no visible damage, the filtering effect of the filter will gradually deteriorate after long-term use. Under normal circumstances, a new filter screen should be replaced every 3-6 months to ensure stable purification and humidification performance of the humidifier.
4.Properly stored
     Shutdown storage: When the humidifier is not in use for a long time, turn off the power first, pour out the remaining water in the water tank, and then remove the filter and store it separately. Do not let the damp filter screen stay in the humidifier all the time to avoid the growth of mold and harmful bacteria spraying out during the next start-up.
     Storage environment: The place where the filter is stored should be dry and cool to prevent the filter from getting damp and moldy, as well as to prevent high temperatures from accelerating its aging. It can be placed in a clean sealed bag or paper box, separated from the humidifier host, to reduce dust contamination.
